Yangshuo

The surroundings of Yang Shuo were mainly sugar top hills sometimes interrupted by flat farm land and villages. For example this is Yang Shuo with some of it hills.

The country side here looked just like you expected it to. Quaint with small villages, lots of farmland, bamboo by the rivers, all surround by hills. Behind me taking this shot was a bunch of water buffaloes with red bows in their horns, ready to the photographed for a mere 2 yuan, but I turned it down.

Here in China we often saw plants that we at home have as small plants in pots indoors or as small bushes in our gardens. Here they would often be trees or sizable bushes in the wild, or planted. This is a bougainvillea, and not the biggest we saw either.

Bougainvillea

Tiles in long rows drying up before being burnt. We saw a lot of these in the coutryside all over China. They all used pit coal.

Sugar canes. sweet but a bit woody to eat. Often for sale in the local markets. Sometimes you could get freshly squeezed sugar cane juice.

This is me in front of the large hole in the Moon Hill. There were a number of climbing routes on this hill. With all these large hills all around it seemed to be a fairly poplular spot for rock climbers. Photo: Staffan Nilsson with my camera.

While we were waiting for our boat to arrive (in the background) this bunch of people with goods of varying sizes came on their way to the local market, I presume.

This billiard-table is probably longing for billiard-table heaven. China is a pretty messy place. A lot of garbage can be found almost anywhere.
